All about Our Lavish Stay at The Residence Mauritius

Mauritius, a gem in the Indian Ocean, is a country of unrivaled beauty & lovely people. For our recent getaway, we chose to book us a oceanfront suite at The Residence Mauritius (TRM). One of the most talked about hotels across the world, every moment here feels like a celebration of luxury and tranquility. The best part – we stayed in The Residence Mauritius using our GHA Discovery Membership which made this experience all the more amazing and luxurious.

Read through as we take you through our 4-day journey of The Residence Mauritius in Belle Mare.

Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Dinner

02:00 pm: The journey began with our touchdown at the SSR International Airport. As we pre-booked the hotel, the team from The Residence Mauritius Indian Ocean welcomed and picked us up. With a private SUV providing a great ride, we felt great after the flight. It was a scenic one-hour coastal drive to the hotel and our chauffeur kept us engaged with his incredible knowledge about the country and attractions around. All thanks to our GHA Discovery membership.

03:00 pm: Upon arrival at The Residence Mauritius, we checked in to our Ocean Front Room. With a smooth and seamless check-in process, the view of the room overlooking the Indian Ocean was a treat. It was a day at leisure so we chilled for a while. Simply soaked in the fabulous views from the balcony of our rustic room.

This reminded me so much of our Maldives vacation.

07:00 pm: Around this time, we went to have our dinner hosted at The Plantation. It was hosted by Kevin, the Digital Marketing & Sales Coordinator, who gave us a tour of the restaurant. The menu is usually packed with non-veg options but they had taken great efforts to prepare a great variety of vegetarian cuisines for us, which was a simply great. The evening ended on a high note as we laughed and had great conversations.

Day 2: Wellness and Indulgence

08:30 AM: Woken up by the soothing sound of waves, we had a sumptuous breakfast at The Dining Room, where the variety of options and the views made up for our morning special. We had a fulfilling meal and coffee, to get ready for the day ahead.

We took a stroll around and about the property and simply fell in love with this beauty. While we could relish the beauty of tropical gardens on one hand, on the other, we could really soak in the breathtaking beachfront goodness of The Residence Mauritius.

11:30AM: And before we could even soak in all the joy, it was time for us to head to The Sanctuary Spa for a Foot Ritual and Back Massage. Just as any luxury hotel, it was a great spa session as both of us left refreshed. There was some magic to their hands as we relaxed for a bit. The best part- Asher fell asleep and we could really give into the goodness of massage here.

03:30 pm: We came back to our room after the delightful spa session and quickly got ready for high-tea with Mrs. Amanda, the Revenue & Reservations Manager,. It was a great time listening to Amanda on her stories about the history and other things. The teas and drinks at The BAR were a great delight too.

07:00 pm: Time for dinner, The Plantation hosted us again for a great meal and experience. From the vegetarian kebabs to drinks and desserts, we burped after that fulfilling meal. Each dish looked like a masterpiece as the night sky dawned.

Day 3: Adventures and Culinary Delights

08:30 AM: Day 3 started with breakfast at the VERANDAH, offering stunning sea views while we relished our meal. As today’s day was meant for adventure and activities, our breakfast was light.

10:00 AM: Adventures started with the Glass Bottom Boat Trip, a complimentary activity arranged through the concierge. The Residence Mauritius offers a variety of complimentary activities for your stay to choose from. While it was something off Instagram Reels, we loved looking at marine creatures as we sailed.

11:00 AM: Next up was delving into the Mauritian culture with an Earth Basket Tour & Cooking Class at The Plantation. We learnt to prepare Mauritian dal and parantha with Chef Prithila, followed by lunch. The experience was immersive and both of us seemed like great chefs, lol.

04:00 pm: The Colonnade Bar invited us for an Earth Basket Home-made Rum tasting session. It was packed with different flavours and we went on to try everything we could. Definitely, a mix-up needed as the lovely ambiance made our noon. Our GHA Discovery membership enables us to indulge in so many local experiences. This makes the entire journey wholesome.

07:00 pm: Dinner on Day-3 was at The Dining Room, which was a much pleasant experience of all. The dinner hosted a mix-cuisine dining and we were getting ready to move to the Sega Show.

08:00 pm: Sega Show, is a vibrant display of traditional Mauritian dance and music. Finishing our dinner, we watched the show and ended the day well.

Day 4: Farewell and Departure

08:00AM: Last day started with our final breakfast at The Dining Room, as we saw through our last moments of the sea-views. The breakfast was fulfilling as always.

12:15 pm: After packing our bags, we moved to The Dining Room again for our lunch and drinks. Being the last meal, we’d miss the naan and dal for sure. With a good lunch, we moved back to our room.

02:00 pm: With the flight scheduled in the evening, we checked out from The Residence Mauritius. The hotel staff was co-operative of the luggage and gave us extra time to vacate. Definitely a great experience, we checked out and the hotel helped transfer us to the airport.

As we bid adieu to The Residence Hotel Mauritius, we not just carried the memories of luxury, but also the serene beauty of Belle Mare Mauritius and the Indian Ocean. This 4-day itinerary is just a glimpse of the magic that awaits at TRM, where every moment is a celebration of life’s finest pleasures. Until next time, let us know if you’ve got an experience to share!
