Modern Magnificence at Amsterdam MARRIOTT HOTEL

AMSTERDAM,  EUROPE, EXPERIENCES, HOTELS, REVIEWS

Waking up in a cozy room, ensconced in crisp, fresh sheets, is what we love most about staying at hotels on vacation. During our trip to Netherlands, we enjoyed one of the finest hotel experiences at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel.

THE VIBE

We personally have a penchant for modern living spaces with contemporary décor and state-of-the-art appliances. And that’s exactly what you get at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. There are 396 guestrooms and five suites are lovely relics of modern luxuriance, renovated to perfection just a year ago.

When you walk in to the lobby, you’re confronted with an opulent reception area, mildly scented and spotlessly clean. This welcoming experience sets the tone for the rest of your stay, which is best described as casually lavish and very memorable.

IT’S ALL ABOUT LOCATION

Whenever you’re travelling, the location of your accommodation determines most of you can do, see, and experience at a place. We typically look for centrally located hotels, and in Amsterdam, the wondrous location of the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel is virtually unparalleled.

It is a mere 10 km away from the Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport, a short, pleasant walk away from the Metro Weesperplein Subway Station, and also very close to the happening City Center. Numerous renowned tourist spots, especially cultural attractions such as museums and monuments, are at walking distance from the hotel.

Booking.com

Every morning, as we set out to explore the city, we typically started out on foot to reach the first place of interest, and then used public transport to reach places farther away. This is the beauty of living at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel; you save travel expenses and also have the pleasure of viewing the city’s wonders from a pedestrian perspective. We really enjoyed our amalgamation into Amsterdam’s culture and became a part of its excited hustle bustle.

THE ROOMS

It almost goes without saying that the rooms at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel are nothing short of spectacular. Done up in soothing neutral shades of white, brown, and grey, all rooms are well-lit, tastefully furnished, and comfortable to stay in, even for long durations like business visits. I was particularly impressed by the size of our room, which was quite spacious by European standards.

Our room has a TV screen, mini-bar, in-room safe, blackout drapes, electric kettle, and AM/FM alarm clock. The bed mattresses were super-plush, with hypo-allergenic pillows and mildly scented sheets. We found the bedding to be extremely comfy – the right amount of bouncy and stiff.

A main criterion to determine a hotel room’s luxuriance is the quality of its bathroom. The bathrooms at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel were lovely; with marble floor, and modern fitments.

The Amsterdam Marriott Hotel has several accommodation types, differing in terms of size and luxury, and you can select the one that meets your requirements.

A TREAT TO THE TASTE-BUDS

The Amsterdam Marriott Hotel experience was memorable on account of the food we had here. It is home to the Midtown Grill, which is a premium steakhouse serving high-quality cuts of local produce.

There’s the Sorel’s Bar and Lounge and we dined here on several occasions. This restro-bar has an interesting décor, very creative menu, and a unique selection of cocktails and spirits. We found ourselves plonked at Sorel’s after a long day of sightseeing on many days. And it was indeed, a great way to unwind. Must mention – the FREAKSHAKE we had here was just so SINFULLY delectable!

And yet another great feature of the Marriott experience is the M Club Lounge. Most Marriott properties have the M Club Lounge, where Marriott members and guests with specific accommodation types, can enjoy a lavish breakfast buffet, and in some case, evening snacks and Happy Hour Cocktail prices as well. The breakfast buffet has multi-cuisine delicacies of all kinds and we couldn’t help but overfill our bellies on most days!

THE AMENITIES

For those who spend a considerable amount of their time in the hotel itself, there’s much to keep you occupied here. Facilities such as a Fitness Center, Sauna, Salon, etc. are extended to all guests.

You also have the monumental convenience of high-speed internet, which is a savior for vacations and business personnel alike. Other need-based amenities such as room service, dry cleaning, concierge services, wake up calls, tourist packages and rentals, are all available based on your requirement.

A SPECIAL MENTION

Though I have mentioned several aspects of the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel that were absolutely fabulous but the best feature was the incredible service. All the staff members we interacted with were incredibly courteous and affable. Their polite disposition and helping attitude made our stay at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel a very special experience.

**We would like to thank Amsterdam Marriott for making this trip possible. All opinions are our own.**
