15 Awesome Bars and Lounges in Delhi

Of course, it’s hard to think of Delhi without reimagining its vibrant culture, all remnants of the age-old political turbulence that made it the off and on capital of various dynasties. And so you have the mouthwatering delicacies served in Old Delhi coexisting in a kaleidoscopic mess with the swanky restro-bars of South Delhi.

But if there’s one thing the capital beats every other Indian city at, it’s the vivacious nightlife. And everyone, from the young to the old, has taken to bars and lounges in Delhi for a taste of their poison. After all, what’s a better way to de-stress after a long day than a warm, buttered rum in winters, or a chilled mug of fizzy beer in the scorching summer months?

What makes bars and lounges in Delhi really special is that they range from the classy, glitzy, and high-end establishments that host big names to the casual, quirky and loud (pun intended) bars where you can catch up with your buddies for a drink or two.

Most lounges offer hookah as well, the traditional hand-me-down from the Mughal empire that Delhi loves to boast about, so there’s no dearth of options!

I had no idea that Delhi has all this amazing offer of bars! But then I think that it’s not surprising, as this is one of the biggest capitals in the world. I think I would like the The Vault Cafe, as it seems to be the most underground one with that rounded door 🙂

Thanks for this! I actually hadn’t pictured Delhi as a city which would have had such a diverse and lively nightlife scene … I don’t know why! I love that there’s such a diverse range throughout for choice between high end etablishments and then more casual scenes. I’ve never tried hookah so might have to hit up one of the lounges!
