Harsh and I afford 99% of our travels on our own as there is no Richie rich uncle to sponsor our trips or not even grand inheritance backing us. We are two middle-class souls, working our asses off, each week, to fund our travels. And after almost a year of relentless traveling & blogging about it, we are proud to say that we have 1% sponsored by awesome travel brands.
For an eternity, I’d wanted to discover the ghats of Varanasi, watch the first ray of the sun that bestows life upon all that was hitherto languishing in darkness, and hear the temples across the town ringing their bells. Well, the universe had conspired to grant my wishes, and it manifested itself in the form of a contest (campaign) called True Wanderers by Wrangler.
That’s right, I got selected for the contest, wherein I went on a 5 Day trip to UttarPradesh (Experience I’ll share in the upcoming posts) and reported my experiences in a Wander Diary! This is the 6th edition of this awesome contest which is run every year by this awesome brand. It wasn’t as simple as it might sound.
To get shortlisted, I had to share my best travel moment, a few travel pictures and videos, & compete with almost 3000+ other travel enthusiasts. Other than that, 1 of the 5 parameters for the contest was voting, which I couldn’t get done as I took part in the last days. Luckily, I got selected but the anxiety and hard work did not end with just the selection. In fact, it was just the beginning.
The entire journey and reporting of my travel experiences involved a lot of editing and brooding over my own content over the others so as to win a bigger prize. It also involved sitting in the middle of the night, wondering what should go into the diary and what not! At last, the process ended last week and now we are just waiting for the results to be out.
On the side note, what I loved the most about my entire journey and association with Wrangler was not just the 5 Day getaway in Uttar Pradesh. I got Wrangler vouchers worth 12000INR plus Vans Shoes to get road ready for the journey through India. A flag-off was organized for the selected Wanderers at the C.P outlet of Wrangler in Delhi, where we could redeem the vouchers.
Here’s my vlog from the flag-off day:
Here’s my photo story from the flag-off (I’ll let the pictures do the talking):
Shopping at a Wrangler showroom was a delight. The showroom was obviously well-stocked, and also well staffed.
Talking about styles, there really is no dearth in the kinds of cuts and rises Wrangler caters to- obviously making it a favorite among youth. There’s the low-rise and the super high, and there’s the bootcut and the straight cut- the courteous staff at the showroom guides you through cuts and styles, fabrics and colors seamlessly. They know it like the back of their hand!
The trial room makes things tremendously easy. Spacious and clean as the entire store is, you can easily navigate through the styles you like, with the eager staff readily available to hand you different sizes in a jiffy. It was a good day indeed and now I am looking forward to the results. *Fingers Crossed*
You can also support me by voting for me here. Make sure you vote for me thrice via all three mediums (Facebook, Twitter, and Phone). 🙂
