There are days when I sit quietly all by myself and think about life – I question the purpose of my existence and get all philosophical! 🙂 Perhaps today is one such day! Yes, I am alive and I have a purpose for being so!

Well, I would like to tell my Wanderers Hub family that I left my 9-6 routine job, 5 years back. Thankfully, I realized really early in time that I wasn’t meant for a robotic job – a job that made me question my existence, made me work like a machine, and didn’t do much to my life, except pay for my bills! Of course, I was better than that. And making the most of my high points, I took a leap of faith and started blogging. What started as a freelancing career turned into a money making business idea and soon I started earning double of what I was in my job, with double the satisfaction. I was happy doing work I loved and more so because it let me do things I loved, of course, traveling! 😉

I was an exception and I am glad I was one, but for most of the people, making a move is rather difficult. Living a life where we spend a major chunk of our time in the offices, in front of the laptops, working for the bosses who don’t even care about our life is just not worth it. Okay, most of you would be thinking that what should we do then? Leave jobs, sit at home, and plan what can be done in life ahead? No! You just need to stop spending your life in a dreamlike state and see what specific purpose you wish to serve.

There are times when I am not just content with what all I have achieved (not much, really) and get into a moment of trance, thinking “What am I doing? Why am I doing? And most of all what do I want to do?” These thoughts usher me to wake up and smell the coffee. 🙂

Life is just too short! Life is too short to remain in one place, go back home feeling unfulfilled, take ourselves for granted, eat the same food, or do the same old household chores – every single day!

Now picture, you being in different places, sampling different meals, trying different lifestyles, waking up to a different sunrise, and feeling alive – every single day. Well, this is my ultimate goal in life – to be able to feel free, alive, and travel to new places.

So, today I feel is one of those days when I really wanted to cherish the freedom of not doing a routine job and being able to live my life in the way I always wanted to. Yes, I am not traveling as much as I should be right now, but it’s on my list. At least I am living my life the way I desire to, work as and when I want to, be my own master, and spend days just the way I want to.

We’ve not come in the world to bust our butts for 40-50 odd years, doing what we don’t want to, and just wait for the day to come to an end, with a thought that the next day might be beautiful! Guys! It won’t be! Unless you want it to be! I am no preacher myself but I am not one thing at least, a slave to someone else. I am sure no one would like to choose such a life if given a choice.

This was my whole idea of starting my own blog and doing what I am really passionate about – travel writing! Sadly, only a few of us really know what we came on the earth for and what our purpose is. And I have many friends and dear ones who go through their life ordeals, never doing what could have tapped their potential to the most and given them much more happiness. With such a living, frustration and sorrow definitely follow by. Don’t be convinced that you are better off this way that you were meant to be stuck in a place or you cannot be anything else.

The Bottomline is we need to enjoy what we do and do something that we love! This brings me to the thought of travel and why I enjoy my getaways so much. When I’m out on the road, I’m genuinely happy. I become a little child once again, who enjoys fresh air and gets overwhelmed by the awe-inspiring gorgeousness of this virgin land. I am able to enjoy the moments and live in the present. Travel makes me feel alive. It feels like every time I come back home, I am a new person – someone who is ready to face the new challenges and someone who’s just lucky! It has become an intrinsic part of me – something that revives my soul.

Travel is more like a therapy to me. Whether it was a self-guided road trip to Ibiza, riding camels in Dubai, or snorkeling in Maldives, each experience gave me a chance to enjoy and appreciate my existence. Traveling in a strange, new land and indulging in life-changing experiences can prepare you for the most difficult choices in life. You grow emotionally and mentally.

Even when back from a vacation to an undesired reality, it is the thought of next travel that keeps me going. Are you motivated enough to book your tickets and set the ball rolling? Do let us know your thoughts? What’s your ideology of travel and how it helps you learn different things? Do you travel with a purpose or you don’t need one to travel?
